Little Blue. Sylvan Riverseed. Pure vital aura spirit. Bonded companion to Wei Shi Lindon.
Profile
Origin: Lesser Treasure Hall, Heaven’s Glory School, Sacred Valley
Species: Sylvan Riverseed (natural spirit of accumulated vital aura)
Species: Sylvan Riverseed
Size: Inches tall
Bond: None (carried by Lindon)
A baby spirit of pure vital aura, taken from the Lesser Treasure Hall of Heaven’s Glory School. Sylvan Riverseeds form where aura is strong and balanced, and they are worth more than any other treasure in the hall. She has no name yet. The records note that she is, at this point, a nursery specimen being fed pure madra by a Foundation-stage practitioner who has no idea what he has.
Species: Sylvan Riverseed
Size: ~4 inches (soulfire-enhanced)
Bond: Companion to Lindon
Role: Spiritual cleanser
Named by Yerin: “Can’t keep calling her the Riverseed. She’s got a face.” Enhanced by soulfire to roughly four inches tall, she cleanses corrosion from madra channels on contact, a capability that makes repeated Blackflame cycling attempts survivable. She is the reason Lindon can walk the Path of Black Flame without it destroying him. The records suggest this role was underappreciated at the time.
Species: Sylvan Riverseed
Size: ~1 foot
Bond: Lindon (core-sharing)
Role: Combat-critical partner (Consume filter, Hollow Domain)
Bonded to Lindon through the same core-sharing oath he once used with Yerin. Her pure madra is the key component that makes both the Consume technique and Hollow Domain functional: she filters consumed power into separate essences (blood, life, madra) and her cleansing aspect gives the Hollow Domain its technique-disrupting quality. She doubled in size at the bonding, growing brighter and more solid, with visible legs and feet. From decorative companion to the mechanism that makes Lindon’s most dangerous abilities possible.
Stage: Herald
Species: Sylvan Riverseed
Size: Shifts between palm-sized and human
Bond: Lindon (core-sharing)
Form: Human (young woman with blue-white coloring)
Speech: Can speak
A Herald who advanced alongside Orthos in a single accelerated week, screaming back at six Remnants during her advancement trial. Her first spoken word: “Yay!” She can shift between palm-sized and full human form, and in combat she matched Orthos’s grip strength as a Dragon Sage, which delighted her and embarrassed him. The records note that no comparable spirit advancement exists in current documentation.
Unsouled
A Sylvan Riverseed: a natural spirit of pure vital aura, formed where aura is strong and balanced. Lindon took her from the Lesser Treasure Hall of Heaven’s Glory School during the raid that preceded his departure from Sacred Valley. She was worth more than anything else in the haul, including the Thousand-Mile Cloud. At this stage she was barely sentient, a small glowing figure sustained by Lindon’s pure madra cycling. [US Ch.15]
Blackflame
Enhanced by soulfire to approximately four inches tall, she developed a clear face and visible features. Yerin named her: “Can’t keep calling her the Riverseed. She’s got a face.” Little Blue grimaced at her in return. Her cleansing touch removed all Blackflame corrosion from madra channels, the black residue that accumulated during uncontrolled cycling. This capability made Lindon’s repeated Blackflame Trial attempts survivable. Without her, the Path of Black Flame would have burned through his channels permanently. [BF Ch.10, Ch.14]
Little Blue healed Jai Chen’s spirit, drilling pure madra through channels that had been destroyed by a Remnant. The first time she was shown restoring another person, not merely cleansing Lindon’s cycling damage. Jai Chen’s recovery from a condition her own clan refused to treat demonstrated that Little Blue’s pure vital aura could repair fundamental spiritual injuries, not just remove corrosion. [BF Ch.21]
Ghostwater
The Spirit Well in Northstrider’s Ghostwater facility revitalized Little Blue the way it revitalized Orthos: restoring vitality and accelerating growth. She grew to six inches tall by the end of their time in the facility. The Well also revealed context for her species: Sylvan Dreamseeds (ghostly animal forms born under dream aura) occupied the Dream Well nearby. Dross consumed six of them during his evolution, which Little Blue did not appreciate. [GW Ch.11, Ch.15]
Wintersteel
The discovery that redefined Little Blue’s role: her naturally formed pure madra was the missing component that made Lindon’s Consume technique functional. The Modified Heart of Twin Stars cycling technique used her madra as a filter, separating consumed power into blood essence (for the body), life essence (for the lifeline), and purified madra (for the pure core). She also provided the cleansing aspect that gave the Hollow Domain its ability to cancel non-pure techniques. The team’s two most important capabilities ran through her. [WS Ch.9]
Lindon bonded with Little Blue through the core-sharing oath, the same method he had used with Yerin in Sacred Valley. She doubled in size to approximately one foot, her form growing brighter, clearer, and more solid. Visible legs and feet appeared. His pure core gained a cleansing and emptying aspect from the bond, turning his pure madra from neutral to actively disruptive. “After so long being carried around, she could help carry him.” [WS Ch.17]
Reaper
Little Blue’s combat repertoire now included the Empty Palm (pure madra disruption), a partial Hollow Domain, the Soul Cloak (Enforcer technique), and what the records describe as “wrestler mode.” She demolished Kelsa (a Jade) in sparring without apparent difficulty. She rode on Lindon’s shoulder alongside Orthos, the two of them forming a matched pair of miniature companions with the combined spiritual weight of beings far larger than they appeared. [RP Ch.5, Ch.6]
Dreadgod
Little Blue absorbed power from a Blood Shadow, her body darkening from blue toward purple during the process. Her spiritual weight registered as “almost as much as an Archlord weapon,” considerably more substantial than her size would suggest. The color change and increased density marked a transition point: she was no longer a small spirit riding on shoulders but a being whose power could be measured against human advancement stages. [DG Ch.8]
Little Blue channeled Lindon’s pure madra to deliver an Archlord-level strike and absorbed Herald-level power during combat. Yerin coached her through the moment: “Courage! Grit your teeth!” She emerged with her fists in the air. The Sylvan Riverseed who had once been a treasure worth stealing from a Sacred Valley school had reached the scale of power that Monarchs would notice. [DG Ch.13]
Waybound
Spirits do not advance through the same discrete stages as human sacred artists until after Archlord level. Little Blue’s growth was continuous rather than punctuated by revelations, and she had been developing internal organs as her spirit densified. By this point her power was comparable to an Archlord, though the equivalence was approximate. [WB Ch.2]
Little Blue advanced to Herald alongside Orthos in a single accelerated week, natural treasures dissolving into soulfire behind them. During her advancement trial, she screamed back at six Remnants. Her first spoken word afterward: “Yay!” [WB Ch.16]
Her human form: a young woman with blue-white coloring. She fought Orthos (now a Dragon Sage) to a draw in a grip contest, which delighted her and embarrassed him. When Dross suggested “Sapphire” as a proper name, and Orthos offered “Alataraxa” (his mother’s name), she declined both. She is Little Blue. [WB Ch.16]
Little Blue ascended with the team to join Ozriel’s Reaper Division. A Herald spirit, three hundred times the size and power of the nursery specimen Lindon once fed pure madra in a Sacred Valley cave. [WB Ch.37]
Threshold
As a Reaper Division member, Little Blue shifts freely between palm-sized and full human form. On field missions she serves as both combat support and structural integrity for the team’s morale: catching Ziel when he steps off a building forgetting he is sealed, flexing a bicep and slapping it afterward. When Eithan announces a team-building activity, she scrambles under the nearest chair. Her fragment for the world Windfall: primeval forests. [TH S11, S12]
